Acupuncture

Gentle, personalized treatments to relieve pain, balance hormones, and support whole-body wellness.

  • Acupuncture is a traditional healing modality that stimulates the body’s innate ability to balance and heal. It involves inserting ultra-fine needles at specific points along energetic pathways to regulate the flow of qi (energy), blood, and other vital substances. Acupuncture removes blocks in the meridian system which lead to symptoms. It promotes harmony between internal systems and encourages the body to return to its natural rhythm and self-healing capacity.

  • All forms of acupuncture have a myriad of health benefits, making it excellent preventative medicine. Every acupuncture treatment, regardless of the focus, is going to improve circulation, boost immunity, and provide a nervous system reset. Patients generally report better sleep, improved energy, and lower stress while receiving regular acupuncture treatment. Additionally, I have found meridian-style acupuncture to be a powerful trauma healing modality, especially in cases of physical trauma and psychosomatic pain.

Trauma and stuck emotions are stored in the body—in the channels.

In addition to my training in Chinese medicine, my background in meditation, yoga, and my own personal experience of chronic pain+trauma, has shaped my somatic centered approach to healing.

My expertise is in treating injuries + pain conditions, chronic and acute. In cases of chronic pain, there is often an emotional component. Thus my approach is holistic and encompassing of body, mind & emotions. A psychosomatic approach to healing allows for symptoms like chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and even gut and hormonal imbalances to all be addressed simultaneously.

Other areas of specialization include sports acupuncture and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. I love working with athletes and weekend warriors... and also love to make sure your skin is protected (!!!) during and after your time in the wonderful but intense Colorado sun.

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to all prospective patients.

Your treatment takes place in a quiet, cozy room—designed to help you rest deeply. Many patients fall asleep or enter a meditative state during the session.

  • Initial acupuncture sessions are 90 minutes and include a full intake of your health history, concerns, and goals. Follow-ups are 45-60 minutes and begin with a brief check-in before treatment.

  • Cupping therapy is an ancient technique with roots in Chinese, Egyptian and Middle Eastern cultures dating as far back as 1,500 B.C.E.

Fire cupping therapy involves placing a glass jar on the skin, using negative pressure created by an ignited cotton ball. This technique promotes the smooth flow of qi and blood by opening up the meridians, releasing knots and tense muscles. It helps alleviate discomfort caused by stagnation, expels external pathogens like colds, and reduces inflammation and pain by stimulating the immune system. This therapy may result in temporary therapeutic petechiae or skin discoloration.

Sound Healing

Vibrational therapy to relax the body, clear energy, and quiet the mind.

  • At Yin Time Wellness in Boulder, we offer sound healing as a powerful and gentle therapy to bring your body, mind, and spirit back into harmony. Using the vibrational frequencies of Himalayan singing bowls and other sound tools, each session is designed to calm the nervous system, clear energetic blockages, and promote deep, restorative relaxation.

  • Sound healing is based on the principle that everything in the universe—including our bodies—is in a state of vibration. When physical or emotional stress throws us out of tune, sound can help guide us back into balance. Specific tones can stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, slow brain wave activity, and support the body’s innate ability to heal itself.

  • Your session begins with a brief consultation to understand your needs and intentions. You’ll then relax fully clothed being bathed in sound. Seven bowls surround your body, each a different note, aligned with each of the seven chakras.  The sound & vibrations of the 7 alloy traditional Tibetan singing bowls entrain the brain into a theta state, providing a nervous system reset and a sense of deep connection to one's physical and subtle/energetic body. Some say the experience feels like floating, while others 'sink into the earth'.

The experience is meditative, peaceful, and often deeply emotional. Many clients report feeling lighter, more grounded, and more embodied.
